Christmas Cards Sale – 3 Ways To Make Your Card More Memorable

Want your Christmas card to be remembered? Then you will need to think before you buy. Anyone can go out in the January sales and pick up cheap Christmas cards ready to send the next year, but will they be memorable?

Most people will receive the same card design from several different people, this is the result of us all being sheep and buying cards from the same sort of places. Why not be different this year?

Below are my three suggestions to help you send a card which people will remember.

1. Charity Christmas cards – the shops are awash with charity Christmas cards, but have a look at the back of a few. You will soon realize that many of these are barely donating any money at all to the charity. The majority of the money you hand over for these will go to the manufacturer or to the retail company who is distributing them. If you want to find charity Christmas cards which will donate more to the charity then try contacting the charities directly. Also, think carefully about which charity you want to support at Christmas. There are a lot of good charities out there, but some could do with your help more than others. Think about a news story which has especially caught your attention recently and find an associated charity. Why not even take this as an opportunity to support a charity for a year? If you want to publicize a charity then a card with a comment on can help. Think along the lines ‘after I heard about xyz on the news I though that this might be a good charity to support’. It will certainly catch the receiver’s attention.

2. Home made Christmas cards – these are great if you have kids. Firstly you will occupy your kids for hours making these (but remember to start making early as they will probably only make a few at each time you suggest it). No one will criticize a Christmas card make by a kid, but beware if you are an adult sending out homemade cards! As an adult you need to either make them funny or really good.

3. Personalized Christmas cards – Just having your name printed in a card will not necessarily make it memorable. Think about the picture on the front. Be warned that most people will not want to know how big your house is, or have your kids smiling at them from the mantle piece (unless of course you are a future heir to a throne). If you are going to personalize the picture on your card it is probably worth considering a humorous one.

So be different this Christmas – make your card worth receiving.
